Are you landing in Paris with your kids and heading straight to Disneyland Paris? After a long flight, the trip from the airport to the park can quickly become the most tiring part of the journey: suitcases, a stroller, tired kids, transfers… Here’s a simple comparison of the options for getting from Charles de Gaulle (CDG) orOrly to Disneyland Paris, so you can choose the one that’s right for your family.
4 Ways to Get from the Airport to Disneyland Paris
1. The train (TGV or RER)
From CDG, a TGV connects Terminal 2 to the Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy train station—right in front of the parks—in about ten minutes. It’s fast, but the schedule is limited, and you have to carry your luggage to the platform. The RER is cheaper, but requires a transfer in Paris.
There is no direct train from Orly: you have to take several modes of transportation in succession (shuttle or Orlyval, then the RER), which usually takes more than an hour and a half.
Ideal for: travelers with minimal luggage and no young children.
2. The shared shuttle
Shared shuttles run between the airports and the Disney hotels. The fare is calculated per person. You must follow a set schedule, wait for the shuttle to fill up, and it stops at several hotels before yours.
Ideal for: 1 or 2 adults who aren't in a hurry.
3. Taxis or ride-hailing services via an app
Taxis run on a meter, and ride-hailing apps have prices that vary based on demand: the final fare depends on traffic and the time of arrival. It is not always possible to reserve a child seat in advance.
Ideal for: unexpected guests, without young children.
4. A private transfer booked in advance
A driver will be waiting for you at the exit, help you with your luggage, and drop you off right in front of your hotel. The price is set in advance per vehicle: it does not change based on the number of passengers or traffic conditions.
Ideal for: families, groups, and anyone who wants to arrive well-rested.
Quick Comparison
| Solution | Price | Door-to-door | Convenient for families with children and luggage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Train (TGV / RER) | Per person | No | Transport (platforms, transfers) |
| Shared Shuttle | Per person | Yes, with several stops | Moderate (fixed schedules, waiting) |
| Taxis / Ride-Hailing Services via App | Variable | Yes | Child seats are not always available |
| Private Transfer | Fixed, per vehicle | Yes, live | Yes (child seats, luggage assistance) |
The Right Choice for a Family
When you pay per person, the price quickly goes up when you have children. A private transfer costs the same whether there are 1 or 4 people in the car. For a family of 4, it’s therefore often only slightly more expensive than a shared shuttle, with the convenience of a direct ride, without any waiting or stops.
